The Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa, FICMC, mni, has bagged an award of recognition by the African Caribbean Network Foundation (ACNF) in conjunction with the Nigerian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Band Corps for supporting and promoting national unity.
The award was presented during the Unity Serenade Symphony Orchestra, which was held at the Community Hall, FCT Arts and Culture Centre, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, earlier today, September 15, 2022.
The Controller General was represented at the event by the Service’s National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC), Umar Abubakar, who received the award on the Controller General’s behalf.
While receiving the award for the Controller General, ACC Abubakar appreciated the organisers of the event for recognizing the effort of the Controller General towards promoting national unity cum security, and promised not to relent. He went further to state that the award will spur the Service towards meeting its cardinal mandate of safe custody of the legally interned as well as their efficient reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration.
