Nigerian Correctional Service bonds with the Janguza community

Nigerian Correctional Service bonds with the Janguza community

The Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, FICMC, mni, MFR, paid a working visit to the Janguza community on Thursday, 3/11/2022, to foster a cordial relationship between them and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

Speaking at the occasion, DCG C/D in the Directorate of Works and Logistics, JT Akinrujomu, who represented the CGC, appreciated the host community for welcoming NCoS into their environment and for the good relationship that has existed since 2017, when the construction of the facility began. He pledged to work in harmony with the community, and such visits will be sustained, as well as other social engagements.

DCG requested that they caution their children and wards against scaling the boundary into the 3000-capacity Custodial Center to loot items, as anyone caught may not live to tell the story.

The State Controller, Suleiman M. Shanono, lends his voice equally by calling on the community to extend their security surveillance to cover the custodial facility.

Responding, both the Dagachi, Dahiru Hudu, and Maigari, Halidu Lawal, in one accord, promised to protect the facility to the best of their abilities and welcome the presence of government in their environment through the Nigerian Correctional Service.

They however appealed that their children should be considered for employment during recruitment by the Service.

Recall that the ground-breaking ceremony for the facility was done in March 2018 by the then Honourable Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau.
