Drill instructors of the Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, have passed out of the drill and regimentation course. The commanding officer of the 176 Guard Battalion, Lt. Col. A. Adegbe, stated that the 3-month-long joint military instructors training was organized in partnership with the Nigerian Correctional Service at General O. A. Azazi Barracks, Gwagwalada, to strengthen regimentation and deepen the already-existing synergy between the sister agencies.
The Controller of Corrections, Ibrahim N. Idris, Esq., who was represented by the Deputy Controller of Corrections, Human Resources, Austin Ujadughele, in his remarks, applauded the Nigerian Army at the 176 Guard Battalion for their continuous support to the Correctional Service. The Controller tasked the trained officers to uphold what they have learnt and represent the service and take the opportunity given by CGC to improve themselves
The full package of the course was in phraseology, arms drill, squad drill, sword drill, regimentation, and much more, all in line with international best practices. The participants who passed out of the course are ASC I, Micah Damawo Doki, and ASC II. Emmanuel Etim, ASC II Mubarak Muhammad, AIC Omomeji Soliu, AIC Uyanah Edward, and CA I Abigail Buki
ASC Etim, who spoke on behalf of NCoS participants, said that the training has further developed their capacity in regimentation, which will go a long way in instilling discipline among the rank and file, and he also thanked the Controller of Corrections, I. N. Idris, for the opportunity to further develop their skill on the job.
