NCoS GETS LEADERSHIP BOOST AS INTERIOR MINISTER DECORATES DEPUTY CONTROLLERS-GENERAL.

The Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, today in a joint ceremony, decorated the newly appointed Deputy Controllers-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and other agencies in the Ministry at a ceremony held at the Nigerian Immigration Service headquarters in Abuja.


In his remarks, the Minister congratulated the senior officers on their elevation, describing the appointment as both a reward for dedication and a call to greater service. He emphasized that their new roles demand exemplary leadership, integrity, and a renewed commitment to the mandate of the Service.


“You are ascending to this prestigious rank at a critical time in our nation’s history. As Deputy Controllers-General, you must serve as role models by mentoring your subordinates, supporting the Controller General, upholding discipline, and innovating new strategies that will strengthen national security,” the Minister charged.


He further urged them to prioritize effective rehabilitation and reintegration programs for inmates, stressing that correctional service remains a key pillar in the Federal Government’s security and social reform agenda.


Responding on behalf of the newly decorated officers, DCG Ngozi Odikpo of the Nigerian Immigration Service, pledged their loyalty and unwavering commitment to the vision of the Service and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.


The highlight of the event was the formal decoration of the officers and a group photograph with the Honourable Minister, their spouses, senior officials of the Ministry, and the management of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
