Similarly, the Controller–Generals of the various services under the Ministry reaffirmed their support and readiness to align their operations with the new performance benchmarks to enhance national security architecture and service impact.
The Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Nwakuche, MFR, mni, in his goodwill message, noted that, “For us in the NCoS, this conversation could not be more relevant. We are reforming an institution that deals directly with human transformation. To achieve true correction and reformation, we must also reform ourselves, the way we plan, evaluate, and deliver our responsibilities. A sound performance management system allows us to translate lofty goals into measurable outcomes. It turns performance appraisal from a mere annual routine of filling APER forms into a living process of feedback, growth, accountability, and measurable outcome.”
The participating agencies include; Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The three–day training which is being conducted by Zemedy Services Limited is expected to equip key function officers with technical knowledge, modern tools and standardized methodologies required to drive evaluation processes, track performance indicators and generate accurate data for decision making.
The programme is organized in furtherance of strengthening institutional capacity, deepening organizational excellence and entrenching a unified performance system across the Ministry and all its agencies.
