Nigerian Correctional Service

The Acting Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, accompanied by select members of his management team, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR.

During the visit, the Acting CGC commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their commitment, professionalism, and sacrifices in safeguarding national security. He specifically lauded the Nigerian Army for its steadfast support and operational synergy with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in ensuring the security of custodial centres. While appreciating the enduring inter-agency collaboration, he emphasized the need to deepen strategic partnerships for enhanced national security and the protection of correctional infrastructure.

In his response, the Chief of Defence Staff warmly welcomed the Acting CGC, expressing confidence in his leadership. He described the visit as timely and strategic, reaffirming the Defence Headquarters's commitment to strengthening cooperation between the military and the NCoS. General Musa further emphasized the military’s dedication to securing custodial centres as vital national security assets, recognizing their significance in maintaining internal security and public safety in Nigeria.
