CGC ATTENDS NAF INDUCTION CEREMONY

In a bid to foster national security, the Controller General of Corrections, Slyvester Ndidi Nwakuche MFR, mni, attended the Nigerian Air Force induction ceremony of A-109S Trekker Helicopter by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. The ceremony, which took place on 16th May, 2025 at the Presidential fleet wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, had in attendance dignitaries from the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Paramilitary Services, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, represented by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shetima, officially inducted the two state-of-the-art Agusta 109S Trekker Helicopters into the Nigerian Air Force. While making his remark during the event, the Vice President reaffirmed the President’s commitment to ensuring the security of lives and properties, and charged the Nigerian Air Force to be proactive by making judicious use of the helicopters efficiently and effectively to combat the enemies of the state and other security threats to the nation.


The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal HB Abubakar in his welcome address commended the President for his magnanimity and unwavering support to the Air Force other security agencies towards combating the security challenges bedeviling the country also adding that the induction of the two A-109S Trekker Helicopters out of twelve will go a long way in improving the national security architecture, boost Air Force’s operational efficiency and humanitarian services.
