The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano Command, took the lead in the parade marking Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. The event was graced by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who expressed pride in celebrating Nigeria's independence and commended the nation's unity and progress.
In his address, Governor Yusuf highlighted the developmental strides achieved in Kano State under his administration over the past two and a half years, including improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, welfare, and youth empowerment. He also appreciated the security agencies for their dedication to maintaining peace and order in the state.
The parade was led by DSC A.I. Mohd, Parade Commander and General Commanding Officer, and featured various security and paramilitary agencies, including the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigerian Customs Service, and Federal Road Safety Corps, among others.
The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, school children, and members of the public, who came out to celebrate Nigeria's 65 years of Independence.
